Abyss of Corruption is is a place inside the body of Shiba Kyouichi filled nothing but absolute darkness and limitless corruption with the soul of Reginlief, a member of Ten Gods, at the bottom.

Due to the Vatican forbidden experiment to create a successful clone of Jin Tojou and later even stronger being was created an immense amount of corruption which threatened to end of Hero clan, they decided to use the failed clones to contain this corruption and prevent it to be discovered. After twelve failed doses of clones was created Shiba which could absorb and store this corruption thanks to having demonic genetic material from High-Class demon and furthermore has unique ability to turn this corruption into power granting him the potential to be as strong and even surpasses Jin. This trait impresses Reginlief, a powerful member of Ten gods who helping the Vatican with their experiments to keep them in check, from the shadow. He desired this ability for himself thus secretary converting Shiba into a divine vessel and tried to absorb him using two arm guards.

However, Reginlief cruelly underestimated Shiba and overlook several important things. Shiba was capable far more than just absorb and store corruption, he could absorb anything he wanted, his body wasn't just a mere container as the inconceivable amount of corruption he absorbed created an abyss inside of his body akin that of entire dimensional space, which could swallow everything including all forms of darkness, which he was able to control over and worst of all, Shiba was already aware all of this. So, in the end, Shiba absorbs Ten God instead, taking his power, memories and knowledge making him a being that the Hero Clan couldn't handle. Reginlief, unable to escape, eventually vanish within Shiba with only his soul remained, granting him the ability to use and channel infinite Ki.
Despite the Vatican feared him because he becomes too powerful to be contained, they could not kill him because his death would cause a release all the corruption stored in him which will swallow the Hero clan and could threaten the entire world.
